Kisii Level 5 Hospital was built in 1916 by the then colonial government to treat injured Soldiers. It has expanded over time and operated as a District hospital untill 2007 when it was upgraded to a level 5 status.
The Kisii Level 5 Hospital is a regional referral hospital covering South Nyanza, South Rift and entire Gusii Region. It has a catchment of 3 million people and a staff establishment of about 500 workers and 13 specialists.
We of offer all the four classes of services:
- Curative
- Preventive
- promotive
- Rehabilitative
We are now trying to establish critical care services with the initiation of High Dependency Unit (HDU)Services from 20th July 2011,then and Palliative services ansd accident and emergency services.
To this end the Hospital management has approved a 1.2 Billion strategic plan, the plan is of 3rd year of implementation.
